Staff Expectations
We are responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment while creating and implementing learning adventures that stimulate young minds. Therefore, you must have an outgoing personality and be physically and mentally prepared to thrive in an adventurous environment of young children and their families. Creativity is a must, along with flexibility and the ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders. You must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while ensuring the safely of all. You must be committed to the mission, vision and core values of Life Prep ELC. Professionalism, punctuality and dependability are required.
Preschool-Age Teacher Qualifications:
At least 19 Years Old
At least 6 semester hours of early childhood education courses for credit (AA degree desired).
90 clock hours or the equivalent of approved early childhood coursework
One year experience working with preschoolers in an approved setting OR one year of college (30 semester hours) OR a combination of experience and college that equals one year of college
9 hours or more of approved training in communicating with staff, parents and the public
3 clock hours in ADA compliance
Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification
Favorable Medical Evaluation within the past 6 months
Successful completion of a thorough background check
Teacher Assistant Qualifications
At least 18 Years Old
High School Diploma or equivalent
9 clock hours of approved pre-service training in communicating with staff, parents and the public
45 hours of approved college coursework or one year approved direct experience in childcare
Willingness to complete on-going professional development
Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification
Favorable Medical Evaluation within the past 6 months
Successful completion of a thorough background check
Teacher Aide Qualifications
At least 16 Years Old
Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification
Willingness to complete on-going professional development
